Name: Pepper (aka: Peppa)

Breed: Military Macaw

Ages: The hatch date the former owner was given when she purchased Pepper last year from an exotic bird store would make her 2 ½ years old. The age on her band indicated 1999. So… She could be 11 years old.

Sex: Female (Reportedly DNA Tested)

Health: Pepper appears to be in great health. Her feathering is beautiful.

Temperament:

Pepper is very sweet and affectionate. She’s a totally delight. Typical of most Macaws she can protest when she’s tired of your attention. She adores hanging out with you. She is quiet and easy to please. She is a talker. She’s very bright. It took her only a couple of days before she started repeating the what the rest of the feathered gang here says. She is peaceful around other parrots and has made no attempt to create any problems.

History:

Pepper was given up due to a lack of time on the part of an excellent owner. She has always been very well cared for and had been properly handled.

Adoption Requirements:

	Pepper is accustomed to being around children from age three to fifteen. While she treats everyone with respect we are looking for a home whereby she doesn’t need to compete with children for your time.
	You are expected to have experience with large parrots and be able to document a positive history.
	You need to reside in a single family detached home. At this time I wouldn’t classify Pepper as loud but I would expect her to enjoy making some loud vocalizations now and then. She is after all a Macaw.
	You must be financially secure and not fearful of loosing your source of income. All parrots are expensive to maintain in the manner we require. Her adoption fee is listed.
	Be able to afford veterinary care and ready to go to what ever length it takes to meet this birds health needs should something arise that demands medical attention. If you have had parrots in the past or currently we expect you to have a veterinarian of record that would give you a recommendation.
	We expect you to make Pepper a very important active part of your life. If you are looking for a super feathered child she just might be the girl you are looking for.
	She eats premium foods and enjoys plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, and nuts. We will provide you with information of our nutritional requirements.
	Pepper should be where you are most of the time. She loves human companionship.
	We require that you provide her a newer powder coat or stainless steel cage with the dimensions of approximately 40x30x70. She loves having a play-top. In the event you provide a dome-top of similar size we would like you to have a large grape vine or manzanita play-stand.
