Sex: Undetermined (We refer to ‘him’ as a male)

Health: Pauly appears to be in very good health and free of any health related problems.  He’s in beautiful feathering. 

Temperament:  

Pauly is a very nice guy.  He’s friendly and easy going in our care.  He enjoys human companionship and seems equally willing to go to either men or women.  He’s easy to care for and independent.  He’s a quiet bird. 

History: 

Pauly has had two homes before coming to rescue.  As I understand from the second owner his first was lacking in a number of ways.  His second was wonderful.  He was surrendered due to a job that required considerable travel.  He was very much loved and well cared for.  

Adoption Requirements: 

• Pauly has been around children but I would not classify him as a totally kid-compatible bird.  A family with older parrot-experienced children may be okay.  His new owner will need to be a mature adult.

• We would like you to have experience with Amazons but simply having avian experience will be helpful.  I don’t feel Pauly is a ‘starter’ bird.

• Pauly isn’t noisy for the most part.  He does enjoy sounding off a couple of times daily and therefore it would be best if you reside in a single family dwelling.

• Be financially secure with a peaceful, solid, stable, home life.

• Be able to afford veterinary care and ready to go to what ever length it takes to meet this birds health needs should something arise that demands medical attention.  If you have had parrots in the past or currently we expect you to have a veterinarian of record that would give you a recommendation. 

• Give Pauly the gift of time.  If you work outside the home make sure he is an active part of your life in the evenings and weekends.

• He eats premium foods and enjoys plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, eggs, soaked legumes, and nuts.  We will provide you with information of our nutritional requirements.

• Pauly should be where you are most of the time.  He loves human companionship and may protest if he feels he’s being ignored. 

• We require that you provide him a newer powder coat or stainless steel cage with the dimensions of approximately 32x26x64.  He loves having a play-top.  In the event you provide a dome-top of similar size we would like you to have a large grape vine or manzanita play-stand.
